All of the psychologists at the Selective Mutism Clinic have a Masters or Doctorate Degree, and are Registered with AHPRA (the national governing body) and Medicare. We also have two Speech Pathologists who are registered with Speech Therapy Australia. All therapists have extensive training and experience in the treatment of Selective Mutism. Our Psychologists also provide general psychological treatment to children through our general psychology clinic – MindBox Psychology.​ ​

BPsych(Hons), MPsych(Clin), MACPA

Hannah is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychologist Registrar who provides assessment and treatment for a range of difficulties in children, adolescents, and adults including trauma-related disorders, anxiety (e.g., generalised anxiety, specific phobias, social anxiety, panic disorder), mood disorders, children with behavioural issues, and parent-child relationship difficulties. 

 

Hannah has a special interest in child attachment, complex trauma, oppositional behaviour and emotion-regulation difficulties. She utilises a range of evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Somatic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Attachment-Based interventions.

 

Hannah has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds in a variety of health settings including not-for-profit organisations, school-based settings, university clinics, psychiatric hospitals, forensic settings and private practice. She also has experience working solely with parents on interventions for social, emotional and behavioural difficulties of young children (under 6 years old). A fundamental aspect of Hannah’s therapeutic philosophy is her belief that individuals are the experts of their own internal experiences. By adopting a collaborative and empowering approach, she strives to work alongside her clients, fostering a sense of agency and actively involving them in the therapeutic process.

 

Hannah has a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Psychology, Honours (First class) from Macquarie University. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a general psychologist (registration number: PSY0002462431) and is currently undergoing her registrar program in the area of Clinical Psychology. She is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Speech Pathologist, B.Sc. (Hons) Speech Pathology - CPSP

Cathy is a certified practising speech pathologist, registered with Speech Pathology Australia. She graduated in 2009 from Trinity College Dublin and has worked in the United Kingdom and Australia in school and clinic settings, providing speech, language, and communication intervention to a diverse paediatric client group. She is experienced in providing telehealth and outreach services as a speech pathologist.

Cathy enjoys working with young people and their families, with a focus on client-centred therapy and meaningful communication goals. Cathy is a neurodiversity-affirming clinician and believes in strengths-based and interest-led approaches. Cathy has a special interest in Selective Mutism and has completed training in this area. She enjoys working alongside psychologists and other allied health to develop communication skills in the context of emotional well-being.

When Cathy is not working at the Selective Mutism Clinic, she supports paediatric clients in all areas of speech, language, and literacy. She is a Hanen-certified practitioner and enjoys teaching parents to support early language development. She works in schools, supporting students and collaborating with educators, and loves working with her growing caseload of teenagers, keeping up with the communication expectations of school, friendships and technology.
