WOODCOCK

B.Psych.(Hons), M.Psychol.(Clinical), PhD, MACPA

Elizabeth is the Director and principal Clinical Psychologist within the clinic and has 20 years experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of child and adult problems including anxiety, depression, behavioural disorders, eating disorders, insomnia, chronic pain, stress, PTSD, OCD, and much more. She has worked in both private practice and the public sector, in both research and clinical settings for over fifteen years. Elizabeth has worked extensively with children and families and is an accredited ‘Triple P’ leader (Positive Parenting Program). For a number of years she worked at Redbank House at Westmead Hospital, which is a tertiary-level service for children with severe behavioural problems and other psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, and attachment problems. Elizabeth also previously worked as Head of Psychological Research for SANE, a leading mental health organisation in London.

Elizabeth also has extensive experience in the treatment of Selective Mutism and is the founder and director of the Selective Mutism Clinic. She has provided assessment and treatment for preschool and school-aged children with selective mutism, extreme shyness, and other childhood psychological and behavioural problems in both the public and private sectors for 20 years. She runs regular training programs and seminars about Selective Mutism for parents, teachers, psychologists, speech therapists, and other clinicians. Elizabeth also provides individual supervision and training for other clinicians at the Selective Mutism.

Elizabeth has a PhD and Masters of Clinical Psychology degree from the University of N.S.W, and is a member of the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (AACBT), and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). She holds full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist (Reg #: PSY0001406292).
